‘Elvis’ Soundtrack: Eminem Releases New Single With CeeLo Green – ‘The King And I’

Eminem, along with CeeLo Green, delivers his new and Dr. Dre produced song “The King and I”. The track is from the soundtrack to the new “Elvis” biopic.

“The King And I”

On the single, Eminem raps about his successful career, parallels to Elvis Presley and his own drug addiction, which he is still struggling with. The song is based on the 1957 Elvis classic “Jailhouse Rock”. Elvis Presley recorded it for the film of the same name.

Baz Luhrmann’s new Elvis Presley film “Elvis” will be released in German cinemas on June 23. The film follows the career of Elvis Presley, his rise to the “King of Rock’n’Roll” and his tragic death. It stars Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

The soundtrack to the film

In addition to The King & I, the soundtrack also includes the Doja Cat song Vegas and Swae Lee and Diplo’s latest single Tupelo Shuffle. Some of Presley’s own recordings can also be heard. The album doesn’t have a release date yet, but it stands to reason that it will be released at the same time as the film.

Eminem’s most recent album, MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY, was released in 2020. He also performed at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, where he starred with Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent performed. Em took a knee during his performance of “Lose Yourself,” apparently as a tribute to American football player Colin Kaepernick and as a sign against racism.
