Elvi-Victoria Alekseeva pleaded guilty to doping – a four-year suspension

As the winner of the SM overall competition, Alekseeva has been at the very top of Finnish fitness sports.

The winner of the Bikini Fitness SM overall competition in 2020 Elvi-Victoria Alekseeva has been convicted of doping and received a four-year sports ban. The matter will be resolved by the Finnish Center for Sports Ethics Sue too from the bulletin.

According to the release, the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Board already issued a decision on the suspension in October, but Alekseeva appealed the matter to the Sports Legal Protection Board.

Alekseeva denied that the doping violation was intentional or a conscious procedure and demanded that the length of the ban be reduced to two years. The Judicial Security Board rejected the appeal and upheld the disciplinary board’s decision.

A generic steroid

In February, Alekseeva gave a doping sample outside the competition that contained metabolites of methandienone.

A metabolic product is a compound that is created in the human body, for example, due to the use of drugs or doping substances.

Methandienone, on the other hand, is a common and strong anabolic steroid that can be used to increase muscle mass in a short period of time.

Over the years, several athletes have failed from the same substance. Methandienone has had a reputation as a cheap doping agent that does not show up in tests for a long time.

However, the substance also has severe side effects, as always with anabolic steroids.

Among others, the Indian javelin thrower has failed from the same substance Shivpal Singh and a Belarusian pitcher Ivan Tihon.

Spouse’s juice glass

In her explanation, Alekseeva claimed that the doping substance would have ended up in her body because she had drunk a drink made from her husband’s juice concentrate, into which, unbeknownst to her, a preparation containing doping had also been mixed.

According to the explanation, the husband had been intoxicated at the same time and was playing video games with his friends.

According to the Judicial Security Board, an explanation is possible. According to the decision, however, Alekseeva “has not been able to make it sufficiently probable that she did not knowingly consume a doping substance”.

In the opinion of the Judicial Security Board, the athlete had also been indifferent to the fact that a drink prepared by another person might expose him to prohibited substances.

– In this context, it is also worth stating the general starting point to be followed in doping cases, according to which athletes are responsible for the substances they consume and the behavior of the persons to whom they give access to their own drinks.
