Elim further corners Achilles 1894, CSVC beats SVN’69

FOOTBALL – SC Elim dealt a major blow to Achilles 1894 in the 2nd division J by beating the Assenaren 3-1. With this, the team of Erwin Sikkes seems to be moving away from the danger zone of relegation. Achilles 1894 just gets further entangled in this struggle. Also in the 3rd class D there was a battle to ‘stay in it.’ CSVC from Coevorden also defeated SVN’69 3-1.

For Onze Club we were present today at the cellar cracker between FC Meppel and De Weide, but the battle between SC Elim and Achilles 1894 was perhaps just as important in that battle. One team is immediately relegated (that seems to be NEC Delfzijl) two others go into the postseason. Achilles 1894 is still just above the line after today, but saw the difference with De Weide and Meppel shrink.

The first half was not scored, but in the last fifteen minutes the match on Elim’s field really opened up. The home team scored three times within fifteen minutes. The first two were in the name of Justin Benjamins and the third goal was in the name of Daimen Diphoorn. In the ultimate final phase Achilles still made the honorary goal, but all three important points remained in Elim.

Elim is now one place above Achilles 1894, but has 18 points from 15 games, where Achilles has 15. The Assenaren have played one game less. De Weide follows with 14 points and FC Meppel is penultimate with 13 points. The differences therefore remain small, especially after the draw between Meppel and De Weide.

CSVC leaves SVN’69 behind

In the 3rd class D, CSVC from Coevorden and SVN’69 from Nijeveen both struggle to impress. CSVC is twelfth and SVN’69 thirteenth. The gap with the number 11 is already four points. Only Fit Boys has scored less. Today, both teams faced each other in the ultimate chance to take points. In addition, CSVC showed that it had the best papers.

All goals of the home team were already scored in the first half of the match, with Ruben Meijer making himself man of the match with two goals. Hilko Koster also scored another goal in the 45th minute. SVN’69 had to wait a long time for a goal, but was allowed to cheer again five minutes before the end. There was nothing more than that.

With that, CSVC says goodbye to SVN’69. The team from Coevorden comes after today on 8 points from 15 games and has created a gap of five points on the team from Nijeveen. The latter will play another important match next week when the last match of Fit Boys comes to visit.
