Eli Iserbyt out of competition due to back injury: “When the pain is gone, I’ll be back”

After the past cyclocross season, the first back complaints stopped at Iserbyt during the preparation for the summer program, his team explains. “Despite treatments, the back pain kept coming back and it was solved last Sunday with his debut in the mountain bike world cup in Germany Albstadt unfortunately so drastic that Eli disappeared from the game prematurely.”

“After that Eli did not travel to the Czech Republic for the next World Cup race, but returned to Belgium for medical examination.”

“I have to listen to my body”

The final winner of the most recent Cyclo-cross World Cup must then pass for the world cup round mountain bike and his first road races, but preparation for the cyclocross season is not in jeopardy. “The doctors have assured me that everything will be fine,” says Iserbyt† “We still have time. This is a moment when I have to listen to my body and let everything go ‘on hold‘ must put. I’d rather rest a little longer now to let my body heal completelyand, then let this drag on until just before the start of the motocross season.”

An MRI scan revealed an injury to the lower back, causing a lingering inflammation. “The most important thing is that the doctors have assured me that everything will be fine again with rest. That is why I will reduce the training sessions considerably in the coming period and I will be out of competition for a few weeks in both MTB and on the road. How long exactly, we know. I haven’t yet. But I expect it will take a while. Only when the pain is completely gone will I return.”
