Market entry in January

Tesla is continuing its expansion and will open its first official sales location in Chile in January 2024, as Teslarati reports. The opening in Santiago, scheduled for January 31st, will be a significant step for the company to enter the South American market. Following reports of Tesla’s efforts to gain a foothold in Chile last year, the carmaker is now set to open its first store in the country. Tesla continues its expansion in South America after bringing its automotive business to Qatar last month and opening its first store in Thailand in May 2023.

The opening is celebrated

Tesla’s official invitation, shared by user MaxCorreaf on X, confirms the opening of the location in the Parque Arauco shopping center. The opening on January 31st will be celebrated with a party including food and drinks, and visitors will have the opportunity to talk to Tesla advisors or arrange test drives. Seating capacity for the event is limited and Tesla encourages interested parties to reserve their spot as early as possible.

Months of preparation

As early as October last year, Tesla published job advertisements for positions in Santiago, including country general manager, sales advisor and service technician, Reuters reported.
