An elderly man and woman were rescued from their home by the police during a house fire in Oss on Thursday evening. The fire raged in a house on Braakstraat. The man and woman were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The fire was reported to the emergency services shortly before half past ten. The man was brought out first by officers, then the woman was also removed from the burning house. Apart from the two, no one was in the house.
According to the fire brigade, the fire started in the fireplace. It is unclear what exactly caused the fire. The condition of the man and woman is not known.

There was also a fire in the house last March. Then a pan left on the stove filled the house with smoke. The residents were not at home at the time.
