Due to persistent threats, a world -famous brand makes a demand for Israel’s football association. This reacts vehemently. Then the company rows back.

According to the Israeli Football Association, the US sports article manufacturer Reebok has withdrawn a decision to end the cooperation with the national team. A spokesman announced that this was the result of a conversation between the association chairman Shino Zuaretz with Reebok and the local licensee. “The company’s logo will continue to appear on the national team’s jerseys at international games, as before,” said the spokesman.

Previously, there was public criticism of reebok from association sites. According to the association, the US sports articles manufacturer had asked to no longer show the Reebok logo on the jerseys of the Israeli national team.

In a message, the Israeli association was therefore upset: “We regret that the international company Reebok has apparently decided to bend embarrassed, completely irrelevant boycott threats.” What is meant is apparently the BDS movement, which, among other things, calls for the boycott of Israeli products and to avoid any cooperation with Israel in the field of culture, sport or science. The news portal “Ynet” reported that Reebok reacted to corresponding BDS threats. The company has been equipping the Israeli national team since 2025.

The German Bundestag classified the BDS movement in 2019 as anti-Semitic.

The Israeli Association had further announced that it would examine legal steps. “There are clear laws against Boykotte, and we will check all legal options available to us,” it said. In order not to damage the supplier, the Reebok logo will be removed, but the jerseys will continue to use. The association was confident that it was soon to find a new sponsor that was “brave and fair”. Now, however, further steps will be obsolete due to the new Reebok decision.

In the context of the ongoing Gaza war, international criticism of Israel grows-also in sporting, cultural and scientific areas.
