After three defeats, the Eisbären Berlin have managed to win again at home in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Friday evening, the German champions won against Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven 4:3 (2:1, 0:2, 2:0).

Matt White scored twice, while Manuel Wiederer and Yannick Veilleux scored for the capitals, who put in a convincing performance, particularly in attack.

The 11,454 spectators in the arena at Ostbahnhof saw two goals in the first minute of the game: White scored for the hosts after 23 seconds, Alexander Friesen immediately equalized for Bremerhaven. In the course of the first third, both teams had other good opportunities, one of which Wiederer used to put the Berliners back in the lead.

Even after the first break, the home side played well forward, but failed to extend their lead despite numerous clear chances. The effective guests were able to turn the game in their favor with goals from Ross Mauermann and Markus Vikingstad.

However, the Berliners were only briefly deterred. Thanks to two power play goals from White and Veilleux in the final section, they were able to celebrate a well-deserved success in the end.
