Mainz/Frankfurt/Main (dpa) – Attacking player Aymen Barkok is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to FSV Mainz 05 for the new season.
The 23-year-old comes on a free transfer from the competitor in the Bundesliga, as the Rheinhessen announced. Barkok has signed a three-year contract with the 05s until 2025. Born in Frankfurt, he has the experience of 72 first division games for Eintracht and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Barkok last played for Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“He is a technically highly talented, attacking midfielder who will also fit in perfectly with Mainz 05 in terms of his personality and mentality,” said Mainz sporting director Martin Schmidt.
