Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – Eintracht Frankfurt’s club president Peter Fischer also wants to make himself felt in London after the party day in Barcelona.
Before the Europa League semifinals at West Ham United on Thursday (9 p.m. / RTL), Fischer announced according to consistent reports: “I won’t let that go, no matter where we play in Europe. I don’t know where yet – There are quite a few in London. Why not in front of Buckingham Palace? There’s not much going on there at the moment.”
Around 30,000 Eintracht fans traveled to Barcelona, first in the city and later celebrating the 3-2 win at the Camp Nou. For the game in the Olympic Stadium in London, the Bundesliga club should only get 3,000 tickets this time. “We can do it. And we will be more than 3000!” announced Fischer.
The Eintracht leadership fears that fans who come into the stadium from outside the guest block will be thrown out again. The club had a similar experience at Chelsea in 2019, Fischer said. A week later, on May 5th, the second leg will take place in Frankfurt.
