SBU captain struggles with knee problems
Eintracht Frankfurt captain Sebastian Rode is concerned about the end of his career given his injury problems. “At my age it would be presumptuous not to think about it,” said the 31-year-old in one “Image”-Interview. “I still have a good two years of contract and I make no secret of the fact that it won’t go much longer after that. If any.”
But it’s not like “that the topic keeps me busy. I want to play as much as possible and help the team, we’ll see about everything else.” Rode had to undergo an operation on his left knee in mid-August last year and only started training again during the season.
The midfielder is now a top performer again for Eintracht, who will play at VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (3:30 p.m.) and has appeared in 15 games in all competitions. Looking at his injury history, it is “clear that I can no longer act like I did when I was young,” said Rode. “But I’m trying to keep my style of play as good as possible.”
