Excludes change

Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche says he will not switch to Chelsea. “I can rule that out, yes,” said Krösche on “Sky” on the sidelines of the game against FC Augsburg on Saturday. Krösche was last traded with the Blues as a possible sports director. The manager, who is still tied up until 2025, clearly: “There was no contact. I read it too, but there was no contact.”

Chelsea is in the process of repositioning itself in terms of sport. The coach is likely to be former Tottenham and PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino. At the management level, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart have been working as sporting directors since this season with technical director Christopher Vivell, whom Krösche knows from their times together at RB Leipzig in the 2020/21 season.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Krösche explains the point of view of Glasner and Kolo Muani

He doesn’t see Eintracht under time pressure when it comes to extending the contract with coach Oliver Glasner. “We didn’t give him an ultimatum. We are in constant exchange. He still has a year of contract,” said Krösche. “It’s normal for players and coaches to think about their personal situation, but I’m not worried.” Glasner himself had always assured his whereabouts beyond the summer and recently explained why he had not extended so far.

Despite the speculation about a possible departure of Vice World Champion Randal Kolo Muani (24), there has not been any request for the striker, not even from Bayern Munich, emphasized Krösche. During the week he announced: “It’s normal for a club like Bayern Munich to be interested in him. On the other hand, Randal still feels very comfortable with us and he still has a lot of development areas that he can work on very well with us. But Bayern Munich isn’t the only club dealing with him either. So far, however, there have not been any specific inquiries, neither from Bayern nor from others.”
