Eintracht Frankfurt | Luka Jovic tough: SBU “left too early”

Luka Jovic is still the record transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt. The attacker switched from SGE to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for the proud sum of around 63 million euros. The Serb is now looking back at the decision with self-criticism.

“I left Eintracht Frankfurt too soon,” revealed Luka Jovic to the Italian newspaper “La Repubblica”. At Real Madrid “everything went wrong from the start”, admitted the 25-year-old.

“It was difficult to adapt to the biggest club in the world. With the injuries, Corona and the unfair pressure, it was an unfortunate experience,” Jovic described his impressions of the Spanish capital.

Return to Eintracht Frankfurt without success

While the center forward scored a total of 40 goals in 93 competitive games for Eintracht Frankfurt, he only scored three times in 51 games for Real Madrid.

For the second half of the 2020/21 season, Jovic even returned to Main on a loan basis. However, the 30-time national player for Serbia was no longer able to build on his old lines.

Jovic now runs for AC Fiorentina in Serie A. The former SGE star has already scored eleven goals for the Tuscan club this season.

Luka Jovic believes in titles with Fiorentina

“I can grow at Fiorentina, I thank Commisso for really loving me,” said Jovic, enthusing about club boss Rocco Commisso in this context. AC Fiorentina are currently in twelfth place in Serie A. “The team has everything to eventually win the league,” Jovic is sure.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt has long found its new goalscorer in Randal Kolo Muani. The 24-year-old Frenchman has already snapped 16 times for the reigning Europa League winner.
