Eintracht’s negative series continues
DFB goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has expressed reservations about speculation about a departure from coach Oliver Glasner. “In the end it’s always like this in football: Some come and others go. That’s the way it is in this business, we have to put up with it,” said the 32-year-old goalkeeper from Eintracht Frankfurt after Saturday’s game against FC Augsburg (1-1). “Everyone can decide that for themselves. It’s like the players. Everyone needs to know what they are up to.”

If you read the coach’s interviews, you can assume “that he will still be on the bench next year”. “So that’s what he says. We are not responsible for what the coach does then, ”explained Trapp. The Austrian coach won the Europa League and reached the Champions League with Eintracht last year. After a negative series of nine Bundesliga games without a win, a discussion about Glasner is currently underway.
Glasner to Reimann: Eintracht Frankfurt’s coaches of the last 20 years
But Trapp warned: “We have to make sure that we have the heads at the club in the next four weeks. Then everyone can decide for themselves.” Midfielder Daichi Kamada had already announced that he would leave Eintracht at the end of the season. There is also speculation that defender Evan Ndicka and striker Randal Kolo Muani will change.
Trapp contradicts Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Krösche
Sport director Markus Krösche lacked the necessary concentration against FCA and was pretty pissed off after the game. “When you see the performance today, you have to say that we didn’t get it. We have to win today’s game with all our might and we didn’t do that. It was a bad game and now I just expect us to win the game in the cup,” said the 42-year-old on Sky, referring to Eintracht’s European ambitions.
In the Bundesliga, Frankfurt is in ninth place with 43 points and five points behind sixth place in the European Cup. If a club that is already qualified for international business wins the DFB Cup, the SGE meets VfB Stuttgart in the semi-finals on Wednesday, seventh place would also be enough. This is two points away for Eintracht.
“Sure, it’s not an easy phase for the team when you’ve been without a win for so long. Nevertheless, you have to appear completely different, you have to want to win with all your might. And we didn’t do that. That happened again and again, but this time the performance wasn’t right either,” said Krösche in an interview with the “Picture” further.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s top goalkeeper: Most appearances for the SGE
Trapp did not want to let Krösche’s statements stand. “I don’t like to contradict my boss, but I know that we in the team certainly know what it’s about,” the SGE goalkeeper made clear. “If you watch the game, it’s a blow to the neck again and that doesn’t speak for us. But it’s not that we don’t know what it’s about.”
