Eintracht Frankfurt | Kalajdžić says yes to the SGE

Even before the winter transfer window officially opens, Eintracht Frankfurt has apparently found a new striker. According to a media report, ex-VfB snapper Saša Kalajdžić has already given the Bundesliga club the green light for his move.

Just a few days ago, rumors emerged for the first time that Kalajdžić could move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Frankfurter Eintracht in the winter. The “Hessenschau” was the first to report that a deal was approaching. The “Bild” is now following up.

According to information from the tabloid, the 26-year-old striker has agreed to the transfer. The former Stuttgart player has decided on Eintracht and only wants to go to the SGE, writes “Bild”.

Eintracht is negotiating a purchase option

The two clubs are said to have started negotiations long ago. They have already agreed on a loan until the end of the season. According to “Bild”, there are still discussions about a possible purchase option that would enable the SGE to permanently sign Kalajdžić after the end of the 2023/24 season.

In Germany, Kalajdzic once made a name for himself at VfB Stuttgart. In 2020/2021, the two-meter giant scored 16 Bundesliga goals in the year after promotion, and even after that, despite a few breaks due to injury, he was a defining figure in the Swabians’ offensive.

Kalajdžić with no luck on the island

Shortly before the end of the 2022 transfer period, the national player finally moved on to England, and Wolverhampton put around 18 million euros on the table for Kalajdzic. Shortly after his arrival, however, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament, which slowed him down for a long time.

To date, the 26-year-old has not completely found his rhythm again and is just a noble joker for the Wolves. In the current season there are eleven Premier League games and two goals – spread over just 157 minutes.

Kalajdzic, who is contractually bound until 2027, is now aiming for a change in air in the winter. His advisor confirmed this to the Austrian journalist Peter Linden: “There are interested parties in the Premier League and the Bundesliga.”
