Eintracht Frankfurt & Juventus Turin are getting closer in the transfer game for Filip Kostic

West Ham out of the running

Rumors of a change about Filip Kostic have been around for months and Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt is also confronted with speculation about the European Supercup against Real Madrid. After West Ham United entered the race for the left winger a few weeks ago, a transfer to Juventus Turin seems to be the most likely. As the Editing by Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano unanimously report that an agreement on a fee is not far away.

According to Di Marzio, both parties have come closer in the past few hours. If the discrepancy with regard to the fixed sum was initially EUR 4 million, it is now said to be EUR 2 million. Bonuses not included, here too still under negotiation. However, the “old lady” is optimistic about closing the deal on Tuesday – at least that’s the plan of the top Italian club. According to Romano, the negotiations are nearing completion. A transfer to the “Hammers”, who in the meantime committed Maxwel Cornet (25) from relegated Burnley to the left winger, had burst.

Exact figures were not given in the reports, which “picture” recently speculated about an amount of 12 million euros for the 29-year-old, who has a year’s contract with SGE and has been in agreement with Juventus for some time about personal conditions – that would put him in fourth place among the most expensive departures sort in the club history of Frankfurt. Kostic was already looking for a change last summer and had tried to force a move to Lazio Rome with a strike.

Eintracht Frankfurt expects Kostic in the Supercup – Glasner reacts to reports with sarcasm

The Hessians, on the other hand, plan for Wednesday evening with the Serbs. “Something has been reported from Italy for weeks. I’ll stop commenting on that. We’ll see what happens,” said sports director Markus Krösche. Coach Oliver Glasner recently reacted with sarcasm. “I substituted him so that he is in top shape for the season opener in Italy,” he replied after the 6-1 Bundesliga start against Bayern Munich, before clarifying that Kostic had been substituted so that he would be fit for the Supercup. “Filip started training quite late and is not yet at 100 percent of his physical fitness.”

At Juventus, Kostic is reportedly seen by boss Massimiliano Allegri as the missing piece to complete his front line after a deal fell through with Álvaro Morata, who has been on loan for the past two years. If signed, the Italians would break the €100m mark in spending as the tenth club this summer. Eintracht, meanwhile, could significantly reduce their €21.1m transfer deficit this summer with a Kostic sale after spending €26m and taking €4.6m.
