The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Rumors and fixed changes from the world of football can be found here.
With the beginning of 2025, the transfer window opened in the Bundesliga and other European leagues. In Germany the transfer period ends on February 3rd. Players can then move abroad if the leagues there have a later transfer deadline.
Which clubs are most in need of reinforcements, what is FC Bayern doing and what is the situation at the top European clubs? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important guesses and changes from Germany and the world.
Jens Petter Hauge’s loan to FK Bodö/Glimt was a success for Eintracht Frankfurt. Since the Norwegian league is based on the calendar year, Hauge has been on loan to Bodö/Glimt for a year since January 2024. In 28 league games, the winger scored eight goals and prepared five more. He was also involved in a total of seven goals in twelve games in the Champions League qualification and the Europa League.
Nevertheless, Bodö/Glimt let the purchase option, which according to media reports is at 5.5 million euros, pass. Hauge is back in Frankfurt. Eintracht sports director Timmo Hardung now told the “Frankfurter Rundschau”: “There was an offer on the table. But that was completely below our expectations and also below the price that was discussed last winter. That’s not something we’re seriously negotiating about can.”
The sports director was surprised by the offer for Hauge. “It’s strange when you negotiate a purchase option that you ultimately don’t want to use or can’t use. You would really like to buy Jens Petter, but you want to pay a significantly lower price for it.”
Werder Bremen has borrowed defender Issa Kaboré from English champions Manchester City. As the Bundesliga club announced, the 23-year-old from Burkina Faso will stay until the end of the season. The change has become apparent in the past few days. This is the first winter entry for Bremen, who are currently seventh in the table.
“Due to an impending move by Olivier Deman and in view of Felix Agu’s absence, we had the short-term opportunity to loan Issa until the end of the season,” said professional football director Peter Niemeyer, according to the statement. The Belgian Deman will be loaned to Royal Antwerp until the end of the season, as Werder later announced. He is scheduled to return in the summer.
Defender Kaboré was on loan to Benfica Lisbon last summer, but the loan ended at the end of last year. Werder had already tried to lure the 40-time national player from Burkina Faso to Bremen six months ago. “Issa is technically well trained, physically robust and also has good speed,” said coach Ole Werner.
There were already rumors about Ridle Baku moving from VfL Wolfsburg to RB Leipzig last week. Now the transfer becomes more concrete. Because as the “Kicker” reports, Baku has informed VfL that they want to move to Leipzig. Both clubs are in exchange, but there is still a difference in the transfer fee.
