Eintracht Frankfurt is probably working on the transfer of Mario Götze

Mario Götze could return to the Bundesliga for the new season. At least that’s what a media report suggests. Accordingly, a Champions League participant has the world champion of 2014 in his sights.

Mario Götze is in transfer negotiations with Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt. At least that’s what the “Sport Bild” reports. Accordingly, there have already been talks between the 2014 world champion and the Hessian Bundesliga club.

The SBU would like to increase its staff in the summer in order to cut a good figure in the Champions League. The Frankfurt team qualified for the premier class thanks to their European Cup success in Seville. At Götze they should have an opt-out clause. Accordingly, the 30-year-old could leave his current club, Dutch Cup winners PSV Eindhoven, by July for a fixed fee of four million euros.

Eintracht receives competition from Götze’s previous coach Roger Schmidt. The 55-year-old will take over the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon for the new season and would like to bring his midfield director from Eindhoven to the Tejo. The sticking point in the duel over Götze could be the salary. According to “Bild”, Götze demands four million euros per season.
