The defensive midfield at Eintracht Frankfurt is considered a part of the team that needs improvement. New faces are likely to appear there next summer at the latest. The working paper ends and most likely should not be extended, and it is also questionable whether the SGE is entering the last year of the contract with Ellyes Skhiri. Hugo Larsson could also leave Hessen and, in the best case, move to a financially strong top club. Frankfurt is envisaging a transfer fee of over 50 million euros. Money that could be reinvested in one or more successors.
According to “Bild”, Kaishu Sano from 1. FSV Mainz 05 is a candidate high on Eintracht’s list. The Japanese national player is also ready for the next step. His contract with the zero-fives ends in 2028, but it is unlikely that he will stay beyond 2026. As a transfer fee, the paper speculates that Mainz will demand a sum above the 24-year-old’s market value of 25 million euros. This would make Sano one of the most expensive departures in FSV club history.

A transfer would also provide further explosiveness due to the geographical proximity and the associated rivalry. In the past ten years, only one player from Mainz moved to Frankfurt: last summer. However, several professionals took the opposite approach.
Janelt also has a six-man option at Eintracht Frankfurt
The newspaper names Vitaly Janelt as another six-player option. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga for some time. Recently there have been increasing signs that this will happen next summer. His contract with Brentford FC is expiring – and an extension is reportedly a long way off.

Janelt has already been traded to the SGE in the past and the eagle bearers are said to have kept in touch with the player since then. From January 1st, the left-footer is expected to negotiate with interested parties and agree on a free transfer next summer. Janelt has been playing at Brentford since October 2020 and was part of the regular staff almost continuously until this season. However, after a heel injury in April, he was slow to get going this year and is still waiting for his first start in the Premier League after seven substitutions. In total, he appeared in 205 games (13 goals, twelve assists) for the club from west London.
