Eintracht Braunschweig will have to be without their top scorer Anthony Ujah for a long time. The 32-year-old suffered a sprained shoulder joint in the game against 1. FC Nürnberg last weekend, the Lower Saxony team announced at the beginning of the week. The exact downtime depends on whether the injury is treated surgically or conservatively.

Update September 28th: The BTSV announced on Thursdaythat Ujah had a successful operation and will be out until the end of the year.

Ujah was the Eintracht team’s top scorer with ten goals last season, and the Nigerian has scored four goals so far this season. How the attacker’s injury should be treated will be decided “in the next few days after careful consultation with specialists.” After seven matchdays, Braunschweig is in second-to-last place in the 2nd Bundesliga with five points (table).
