Eintracht Braunschweig presents Härtel as Schiele’s successor

Most recently with Hansa Rostock

Eintracht Braunschweig has found a successor for Michael Schiele and presented Jens Härtel as the new coach. Lower Saxony announced on Sunday that the 54-year-old had signed a contract until 2025. For him it is the third station in the 2nd Bundesliga, in which he previously looked after 1. FC Magdeburg and Hansa Rostock. His tenure at Hansa ended in November 2022 after four years and 159 games, since then he has been without a club.

“It became clear in the discussions that Jens Härtel suits us very well in terms of his approach, his work and his sporting orientation. He brings the experience and the necessary clarity on the sidelines to further develop us in sport. We are very much looking forward to working together and will get started right away,” said Eintracht sports director Peter Vollmann.

Haertel himself said: “I am happy to be part of Eintracht Braunschweig and thus a special traditional club and can hardly wait to get to know the team, employees and fans and to work with them.”
