Frank Kornath, the stadium announcer for Eintracht Braunschweig, died suddenly. The BTSV honors his achievements and mourns his death.

Eintracht Braunschweig mourns Frank Kornath. The stadium announcer died suddenly on Tuesday evening at the age of 65. Kornath, who also worked as press spokesman for the city of Gifhorn, only took on the role of stadium spokesman at the Eintracht Stadium in the summer of 2024. His predecessor Stefan Lindstedt had also died.

Nicole Kumpis, President of the BTSV, emphasized in a statement that Kornath lived the spirit of the club “with passion, with heart and with a deep sense of responsibility.” “His work at the stadium microphone, but also beyond, was characterized by enthusiasm and real identification. We are grateful that he was part of our blue and yellow family,” she said.

Wolfram Benz, managing director of the BTSV, praised Kornath for his long-standing contribution: “Whether as a journalist, stadium announcer or as a commentator on our fan radio: Frank was a part of Eintracht for decades.”

Benz thanked Kornath, who was already the voice in the Eintracht Stadium in 1990/91, for “continuing the difficult legacy of Stefan Lindstedt on the stadium microphone” last year and for helping the club in a difficult time.

Frank Kornath also reported professionally on Eintracht Braunschweig for the stations ffn, Radio Okerwelle and Radio SAW. He leaves behind his wife and two sons.
