The sudden death of Frank Kornath caused great sadness in Braunschweig. The former Eintracht stadium announcer will be remembered before the derby against Hannover 96.

At the Niedersachsensenderby against Hannover 96 next Sunday (kick-off: 1.30 p.m.), Eintracht Braunschweig will commemorate stadium announcer Frank Kornath, who died almost two weeks ago. The club announced this at the press conference for the game early on Friday afternoon.

The action will take place after the team’s warm-up phase and before the song “You’ll never walk alone” is played, it said. What exactly was planned remained unclear. The team will also wear mourning ribbon.

Immediately after his death, BTSV President Nicole Kumpis expressed her great thanks to Kornath for his services: “Frank Kornath lived the spirit of our unity – with passion, with heart and with a deep sense of responsibility for the club and its people,” she said. “His work at the stadium microphone, but also beyond, was characterized by enthusiasm and real identification.”
