Eindhoven makes a mistake with counting votes

The municipality of Eindhoven made a mistake when counting the votes of the Provincial Council elections. According to an employee of the municipality, it was about copying the wrong table. As a result, Eindhoven passed on results to the election service of the ANP that turned out to be incorrect.

According to that data, the PvdA would have grown from 8.3 to 22.1 percent of the vote and would have become the largest party in Eindhoven. Because that gave a very different picture compared to results in other municipalities, Eindhoven confirmed the information provided again at the request of the ANP.

GroenLinks largest
A short time later, Eindhoven had to admit that a mistake had been made.

GroenLinks turned out to be the largest party in Eindhoven. That party made a small profit and obtained 13.2 percent of the vote in Eindhoven. The VVD, still the largest in the city in 2019, lost just over two percentage points to 11.9 percent, just ahead of the PvdA, which came third with 10.7 percent.

Forum for Democracy, the third party four years ago, lost almost three-quarters of its supporters and reached 3.1 percent. The BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) achieved 8.3 percent.
