Eighties seriously injured after he struggles with Aixam in a canal | Moorsled

The 81-year-old man from Moorslede was on the way on Saturday morning around 11.15 am with his Aixam in the Puitstraat in Moorslede when it suddenly went wrong. The man ran off the rural track, ended up in the canal and crashed into the undergrowth. The man himself did not get out of his vehicle and a MUG was called because he was suffering from cardiac arrhythmias. The fire brigade was able to get the man out of his chopped Aixam. He was seriously injured and transported to the AZ Delta in Roeselare, but is not in a life-threatening condition. Due to the accident, the rural Puitstraat was completely closed to traffic for a while.
