The new president of Eintracht Frankfurt is also the old one: Peter Fischer was confirmed in office at the general meeting of the Hessians. However, the result was no longer so clear.

As expected, Peter Fischer remains President of Eintracht Frankfurt. The members of Hesse confirmed the 66-year-old in office at the general meeting on Monday evening with 79.85 percent. In the last election in January 2018, Fischer received more than 99 percent of the votes.

“I even expected less,” said Fischer in a first statement. “The Ultras had already told me that there would be abstentions and dissenting votes. But I can live very well with 80 percent.” There were a total of 420 votes in favour, 106 against and 99 abstentions.

For Fischer it is already the eighth term as President of Eintracht, he is entering the 22nd year with the Hessians. The next election will take place in four years as scheduled.

“Even for those who didn’t vote for me, I’m still the president. Thank you for your trust. I hope you’ll have a drink with me down there,” said Fischer after the election. There was no opposing candidate.
