Eighteen years after farewell, BZN surprises with a secret concert on fan day: ‘Overcome by emotion, I have never felt this before’

The band members had prepared it in complete secrecy, their surprising answer to the question of whether BZN would ever perform again. Eighteen years after the legendary farewell concert in Ahoy, the hit machine of yesteryear took to the stage of the Volendam St Jozef building on Sunday, the same place where BZN performed for the very first time 60 years ago. It was a one-off mini-concert, especially for a select, international group of fans and for their own grandchildren. “With the second song I was overcome with emotion,” says drummer Jack Veerman. “I’ve never felt this before.”
