Folk singer Dennie van den Bosch from Achtmaal succeeded: he can finally be in the popular Efteling attraction Danse Macabre. At the end of last year he stood in line for Danse Macabre for a long time to finally find out that he did not fit in the choir bench. He was then taken out of the attraction.
“That was very embarrassing,” said his girlfriend Melanie Mutsers at the time. Dennie and she – who make music as a duo and stand at festivals – had been looking forward to a ride in the latest top attraction of the Efteling for weeks. Dennie was very embarrassed that he had to leave the room on the spot. “That shame did something with him,” Melanie saw. “He was really off the path.”
Dennie suffers from the congenital disorder of dwarf growth. According to the couple, the problem was that Dennie has a hollow back. As a result, his belly is a little further forward and the bracket of the attraction could not close. The couple was not angry with Efteling that this happened to them.
But Melanie did wondered why there is no so -called bench at the entrance to Danse Macabre, in contrast to the Baron and Joris and De Dragon attractions. “Then you can already see in advance whether you fit in, instead of having stood in line for a while. There are more fat people in Efteling.”
“I really had to force Dennie.”
In the meantime, such a test chair – for the queue of Danse Macabre – has been placed. And a few weeks ago Dennie and Melanie made a new attempt. After Dennie threw himself on a waste cure under the inspiring leadership of Melanie. A challenge that could be followed through Powned . There you could see how the folk singer turned the helm and decided to move more and eat healthier. All to be able to participate in the brand new Efteling attraction.
In the four -part series you saw Dennie with Melanie as his personal coach, sweating and toil.
“You really had to force him,” Melanie looks back on Monday morning. “That losing weight is difficult. The body seems to want to go back to the thickest. But that PowNed filmed this process, nevertheless caused a certain pressure. This morning, Dennie also got up at half -sided to go swimming.”
“Test bench was still exciting: yes, green!”
The waste cure had the desired effect. Dennie lost about eight kilos and so Melanie and he went back to the Efteling for Danse Macabre. And now with success. The test bench was just an exciting moment. Dennie and Melanie hopefully looked at the red and green light near that sofa. Which would jump? “Yes, green!” Dennie saw enthusiastically.
Not much later, the folk singer was able to enjoy his first ride in Danse Macabre with the poor with the poor. To the joy of Melanie. “The staff of the Efteling helped very well!”
