The Olympique Lyon women’s team has reached the final of the Champions League. The record winner won 3-1 against defending champion Arsenal.
At Olympique Lyon, Dutch international Damaris Egurrola came on in the 78th minute. At Arsenal, Daphne van Domselaar kept the entire match and midfielder Victoria Pelova came on in the 71st minute.
Arsenal had won the first leg 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in London last week. A week later, an extra time or penalty shootout seemed likely to decide the match at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, but German international Jule Brand scored the decisive 3-1 for the French top club in the 90th minute.
Lyon will face FC Barcelona or Bayern Munich in the final. Those clubs will play against each other at Camp Nou on Sunday at 4:30 PM. The first leg in the south of Germany ended 1-1.
The final will be played on Saturday, May 23 at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo, Norway’s national stadium.
