Egg rice fryers have not been found in all the frying stations of the S group’s stores for years.

Iltalehti’s reader has noticed that his favorite frying point egg rice patties are no longer available in S group stores.
Sales manager of the S group supermarket Katarina Vikman says that there haven’t been egg rice fryers in the national chain selection of frying outlets for a long time.
Probably not for years.
Instead, fried eggs in local cooperative stores may be available. In addition, the selections of Fazer’s in-store bakeries located in Prisms and some S-markets have egg rice fritters.
– In other words, you can find the products in some markets. And it’s good to note that there are also other pâté products in the selections, both in frying pans and, for example, frozen, Vikman states.
However, Vikman could not tell why the egg rice fritters with frying points have been abandoned.
– There haven’t been egg rice pasties in chain selections for such a long time that I can’t give an accurate background to the situation. In general, however, I can tell you that the chain selection of the frying point is changed from time to time, Vikman replies by email.
I saw it in Lidl and Kesko
According to Lidl’s communications, the chain occasionally has egg rice fryers as a batch product, not permanently in the frying station’s selection.
Kesko stores also have egg rice fryers at the frying stations.
– Egg rice fryers can be found in our selection, which means that stores can order them to be sold to their frying outlets as usual, Kesko’s communication confirms.

If you want to make egg rice fritters at home, here is an easy recipe.
Egg rice patties
(10 pcs)
5 sheets of puff pastry
Filling:
3 dl ready-made rice
3 boiled eggs
100 g herb cottage cheese (or garlic)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1 egg for lubrication
1. Take the sheets of puff pastry to melt on the baking paper.
2. Prepare the filling by finely chopping the eggs (handy to do with an egg cutter). Mix with other ingredients and season according to your taste.
3. Roll out the puff pastry a little thinner, cut them in half. Place the filling in the middle of the dough piece. Lift and pinch the edges so that the seam is facing upwards.
4. Turn the pasties over and press flat. Press the edges with a fork and make slits on the pasties with a knife. Brush with egg. Bake at 225 degrees for 15 minutes.
