The most visible character of Thursday’s only Veikkausliiga match was mercilessly Teppo Marttinen. The reason was unfortunate for the VPS goalkeeper, as he failed completely in the first minutes of the match.

Home team SJK Terry Yegbe Linkosi sent the ball to Marttinen’s goal from a boundary throw. In retrospect, Marttinen should have let the ball go past him and bounce straight into the goal. In that case, VPS would have had a goal kick.

However, the red-shirted goalkeeper, who was without any troublemakers, tried to take the booth and failed miserably. The ball went through his paws into the goal and SJK took a 1–0 lead. SJK players came to congratulate Yegbe, who basically scored a legal handball. Officially, the hit was marked with Marttinen’s name.

The same goal at the OmaSP stadium could have been cursed on Thursday, because in the second half there was a SJK defender Ovie Ejeherin it’s time to screw up. VPS got a lateral free kick far from the goal, but Roni Hood the ball, meant for concentration, sunk all the way to the goal.

One more goal was seen in the sunny match. It was born from the last attack of the match and again through a special situation. Given by the sidekick Diego Rojas found in the box Samson Obiohanwho skillfully directed an important win for SJK.

Thus, SJK came second in the series over HJK. They are one point behind KuPS, but the Kuopio side have two more matches played. The head coach by Joaquín Gómez the proteges have not lost even once in the past season.

The situation with VPS is the opposite. The team from Vaasa, which won only one of the ten matches, is at the bottom of the series with IFK Mariehamn.
