Efteling visitor collects coins from a boat attraction with a magnet

Once again, someone at Efteling was caught hunting for coins that had been thrown into the water by other visitors to make a wish. On Saturday he fished coins from the water at the Sirocco boat attraction with a string with a magnet attached to it.

Photos of the visitor can be seen on Loopings. Efteling announced on Sunday that it is not aware of the man’s fishing activities.

In shorts in the Wishing Source
At the end of August someone made a big fuss. He steps into the Wishing Well in his shorts, which is located near the Gondoletta attraction. He then grabbed the money while standing in water up to his knees.

“It often happens that people remove money from the water,” said an Efteling spokeswoman on Sunday. “When we see it, we always talk to them about it and explain that the money is intended for charity. They usually come to an understanding.”

The ‘grabbers’ are never kicked out of the park. “That is not our intention,” the spokeswoman said. “We want everyone to have a good time here.”

Charities
Park visitors can toss a coin into the Wishing Well near Gondoletta Pond and then make a wish. The well was opened on May 21, 1985 by Princess Juliana and Anton Pieck. The money goes to Save the Children.

Coins that are thrown into the water at another location in the amusement park are intended for Villa Pardoes.
