The gates of the Efteling theme park were allowed to open wide again on Wednesday after the closure of more than a month to receive visitors. This opportunity was eagerly taken advantage of. The park filled up and the public was able to experience the new Sirocco attraction for the first time.
With Sirocco a breath of fresh air is blowing through the park. The visitors step into a rotating boat and end up in a whirlwind that rises at sea.
Nick Geerlings and Erwin Boudewijns from Veldhoven are avid visitors to amusement parks. The duo has just completed their first ride in the Sirocco. “It was really cool. Together with the light and sound it is an experience”, Nick describes. Boudewijns adds: “All the effects are very nice. You really have the idea that you are in a storm. I have a lot of respect for the designers and everyone who contributed to this. We are going to do another round.”
The Sirocco has replaced the Monsieur Cannibale attraction. This attraction disappeared from the amusement park after 33 years because many people believed the large cannibal doll to be racist.
