Edson Álvarez’s BVB transfer is taking shape

Borussia Dortmund has apparently made progress in the search for a successor to Jew Bellingham, who has moved to Real Madrid. Because according to a report, the BVB bosses agree with their dream player: Edson Álvarez from Ajax Amsterdam!

Borussia Dortmund has been associated with Edson Álvarez for weeks. The 25-year-old should make the departure of Jude Bellingham at BVB forgotten. While those in charge are locked in intense poker with Ajax Amsterdam, the midfielder’s current club, with no end in sight, there appears to be good news from the player side.

Because, as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has learned, the black and yellow are close to a full agreement with Álvarez. Apparently only the last details have to be discussed.

What is already clear: The Mexican should sign a contract in Dortmund until the summer of 2028. That was already agreed with the 62-time national player.

However, there is still no agreement with Ajax Amsterdam on the transfer terms. According to Romano, negotiations should resume next week in order to complete the transfer within the next seven days.

BVB and Ajax are negotiating a fee for Álvarez

There is not enough evidence of the sums BVB and the Dutch top club have talked about so far. According to “Sky”, the Amsterdamers are probably demanding 45 to 50 million euros for the desired Bellingham successor, whose market value is estimated at 35 million euros. “Bild” recently reported that Borussia had made an offer for 30 million euros – too little.

It is still unclear what amount the two parties will ultimately agree on and which bonus payments will now be integrated into the deal.

However, BVB’s big pound in the negotiations will be Álvarez’s clear decision for the Bundesliga and BVB, which has already been reported. Now that the agreement with the 25-year-old has apparently been made (more or less), the transfer should indeed take place promptly.
