Eddy Zoëy completely misses the point, calls B&B Denise a ‘terrorist’

Eddy Zoëy completely missed the mark in RTL Boulevard yesterday. He thinks that B&B Vol Liefde candidate Denise Harms is a ‘terrorist’ who discredits the dating show of RTL 4.

There are suddenly several candidates who, rightly or wrongly, put the television hit B&B Vol Liefde in a bad light. The blunt Richard destroys the credibility of the program – he says he only participated for the publicity of his bed & breakfast – and ‘kenau’ Astrid states that the makers have manipulated her.

complaining Denise

Most striking is the complaint of candidate Denise ‘belly button’ Harms. She was extremely false in the program with the departure of one of her dates. Now she seems to be accusing that date in question, Dave, of transgressive behavior. It seems to be some spicy apps, but he denies that there is a cross-border character.

Given that Denise was in love with him until Dave’s rejection, it makes sense that her allegations are questioned. However, Blue Circle, producer of the program and part of RTL, should of course take them seriously and according to Denise that is not happening.

question marks

Yesterday RTL Boulevard devoted a long item to the uprising among the candidates of B&B Vol Liefde. It was not mentioned that both programs have the same producer. Reporter Aran Bade approaches the complaining candidates with some cynicism. “It is the season of the border. Everyone sets their limits.”

Aran questions the somewhat vague lament video Denise has thrown online. “If you want to report something, you should definitely do so. There are just certain places for it. This is a very weird, fuzzy story and we kind of get stuck in that.”

‘Just say it!’

Luuk Ikink also encourages Denise to step forward. “Why doesn’t she just say what’s going on? It’s all so cryptic. I have no idea what the story is about anymore.”

However, Denise just seems to have chosen the right route. She does drop some hints on social media, but has sounded the alarm at the Mores hotline. They confirm that a 72-minute call has taken place. Aran: “If something comes out of that, it is fed back to the producer. That is not the case now.”

What does Astrid say?

Then Boulevard switches live to the complaining ‘kenau’ Astrid and her sweetheart Harmjan. Presenter Eddy Zoëy is constantly trying to put words in their mouths. “It looks like you guys are angry and I don’t think that’s right. Just explain,” he encourages them. Moments later: “We can conclude that you look back on it pleasantly, right?”

Harmjan can just add a critical note: “Let’s summarize it briefly: we participated in the program to find love and were not busy making TV. The production company [Blue Circle] tries to make TV and let’s just now and then have conflicting interests in that. That clashes and that has clashed.”

‘Terrorists!’

Luuk then notes that Blue Circle, which is also the producer of its own RTL Boulevard, has apparently fallen short in the field of aftercare. “It is important, also as a production company, to stay in touch with those people who participate. Just talk to each other, because then you just prevent these kinds of things.”

Eddy, however, supports the line of RTL, which does not wish to respond to the candidates’ complaints. “I understand RTL’s position, just don’t negotiate with terrorists.”

Denise reacts bewildered in a story on Instagram. “Eddy Zoey, wtf? Are you really calling me a terrorist? And that’s why I’m not talking to you! Too low this!!! How far are you going down?? Luuk Ikink, you understand.”

Criticism of Boulevard

AD media journalist Marcus den Blanken thinks that RTL Boulevard misses the mark. “I understand that you approach Denise from B&B Vol Liefde critically”, tweets he. “But that Eddy Zoëy now says: ‘I understand RTL’s statement, don’t negotiate with terrorists’… There was just a 72-minute conversation with Mores, right? I think it goes a long way.”

Television journalist Jef Willemsen speaks of a ‘special item’ that ‘smells like damage control’. “A special bouncer indeed. Especially because the entire item already felt like a directed PR moment with Astrid who was allowed to come and say that she is really not angry. Indirectly, it still feels like Denise is being framed and undermined.”

Marcus: “Yes, it kind of felt that way. And that doesn’t fit with Boulevard.”

Jeff: “Absolutely not. Even the Shownieuws, which usually preaches for Talparochie, would not burn itself so blatantly about that.”
