Eddie Vedder’s forthcoming solo album EARTHLING will feature a number of notable musicians including Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Ringo Starr. Vedder’s father Edward Severson Jr. is also featured on a song. In addition, the third single of the long player was released.

The title of the new song is “Brother the Cloud”. The Pearl Jam singer co-wrote the song with Andrew Watt, the new record’s producer. Also featured are Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and former Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

The lyrics have already led to some speculation. Because on the track, Vedder sings about a person he lost and still longs for. It could be his brother Chris, who died in an accident in 2016. His label explains in a press release: Vedder is reminiscent of his friend Chris Cornell. The Soundgarden singer, with whom Vedder played in the band Temple Of The Dog in the early 1990s, died on May 18, 2017 at the age of 52.

Vedder’s album EARTHLING will be released on February 11th. The singer will also be touring North America with his new solo project. He will be accompanied by his new solo band, the Earthlings. The band consists of Watt, Klinghoffer, Smith, bassist Chris Chaney and multi-instrumentalist Glen Hansard. He will also open the concerts with his own set.

Vedder will also be touring with Pearl Jam. A number of concerts have already been confirmed after various corona-related postponements, starting with the Pink Pop Festival in the Netherlands on June 18th.
