Ed goes around the world with his +-=÷x Tour †The Mathematics Tour), but has also been a young father since September 2020. His wife Cherry Seaborn then gave birth to their daughter named Lyra Antarctica. Now that Ed can go on tour again after all the covid vicissitudes, he takes the girl on a trip.
The locations and cities where he performs make that possible, says the singer. “I’m lucky enough to perform on the weekends,” Sheeran says in the Carrie & Tommy Podcast† “My daughter is now nineteen months old and super easy to carry around. Moreover, she is far from the age at which she has to go to school.”
Ed and his family will stay in a hotel near the venue for about a week before a performance. “So it’s all very kid-friendly.”
Youth hostel
It was all very different in the past, he says. “I always played in small venues without a dressing room. You went in a van, you sometimes gave eight performances in a row and you stayed in youth hostels with several people in one room.”
The British singer will start his musical tour next month in the Irish capital Dublin and then moves on to other cities in Europe. Ed will be in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on 14 and 15 July.
