Ed Sheeran has left his music label Warner Music after fifteen years. The British singer announced this in a written statement on Friday. He emphasizes that his decision does not arise from a conflict with the label.
The 35-year-old singer says he is not a “disgruntled artist” leaving his record label, but that he joined as a teenager at the time with different priorities than he does now.
“My life is completely different from when I was a teenager, and I have felt for some time that many things in my professional life need to change.” He says that in recent years he has grown into an artist who gives stadium concerts, after initially only performing in cafes, which takes some getting used to.
According to Sheeran, he ‘needs a different approach’ in his professional life. ‘It’s been an incredible journey. I’m curious to see where the next fifteen years will take me,” said the singer.
Sheeran sold around 200 million albums in his career, making him one of the most successful artists within the label. In 2025 he released his most recent album Play.
