Ed Sheeran launches spicy sauce ‘Tingly Ted’s’: “It goes with everything, except bananas” | Celebrities

British pop singer Ed Sheeran is launching a line of spicy sauces later this year called ‘Tingly Ted’s’. He launches two variants: Tingly (tingling) and Xtra Tingly.

It’s no secret that Sheeran is a fan of sauces. He even got the Heinz Tomato Ketchup label tattooed on his arm. For him, “Tingly Ted’s” had to have the same consistency as his beloved ketchup. “I knew I didn’t want to make a watery hot sauce because they usually end up on the same shelf with other random hot sauces. I wanted to make a sauce that takes the same place as ketchup.”

At first, the singer makes the new spicy sauces for himself. “The older I get, the more I feel the need to spice up every meal. I travel a lot, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a bottle in my suitcase everywhere.”

‘Tingly Ted’s’ is described as a sauce with a smoky taste and fresh citrus notes. Before that, Sheeran spent a year working with an “amazing mixing team” to pick out the perfect flavors. “In the end we found two absolute toppers: the Tingly and the Xtra Tingly. I recently took them on tour to try them with a variety of meals and there really isn’t anything they don’t go with. Except with bananas, don’t do it on bananas.”

The sauce won’t be out until later this year, but the hitmaker says it will be worth the wait. Whether ‘Tingly Ted’s’ will also end up in Belgian stores is not clear.
