The Spanish fashion brand Ecoalf has opened a flagship store in Tokyo. The store is located in the Newoman Takanawa shopping center and is another example of the international expansion plans of the sustainability -oriented brand.

The stored design follows the philosophy “Turning Waste into Resources”: This is how a minimalist interior design made of recycled wood, steel on rivers and seas shaped stones. Light elements made of recycled aluminum and mannequins from old sneakers and PET bottles from recycling projects should make the brand values tangible.

“Our flagship in Tokyo is more than one business – it is a platform to combine people with our mission,” says Javier Goyeneche, founder and president of Ecoalf. “Japan is a market in which innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. This new room should inspire to become part of our movement.”

In the Japan key market, there are a total of five stores, four in Tokyo, one in Osaka. Ecoalf relies on its multichannel model with 40 percent retail, 40 percent wholesale and 20 percent online. Most recently, the company Stores opened in Biarritz and Bilbao and is planning others in Bozen and San Sebastián.

The company based in Madrid generated sales growth of 20 percent in the 2024/25 financial year and a positive EBITDA of 3.4 million euros.
