Max Eberl is expected to start his job as sports director of the Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig earlier than planned.
“I think I can order him to Leipzig two or three weeks earlier,” said outgoing managing director Oliver Mintzlaff after the 3-1 win in the Bundesliga at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on “ZDF”.
The 47-year-old is leaving the DFB Cup winner and moving to the group headquarters of main sponsor Red Bull on November 15.
The 49-year-old Eberl should not officially take office until December 15th.
When asked, Mintzlaff left it open whether the former sports director of FC Schalke 04, Rouven Schröder, would come to Leipzig with the former sports director of Borussia Mönchengladbach. “Now Max is coming alone,” he said.
