Ebay with a slight increase in sales

Business is improving again on the online trading platform Ebay.

In the first quarter, revenues rose by one percent year-on-year to 2.5 billion US dollars (2.3 billion euros), as Ebay announced on Wednesday after the US market closed. It was the first increase in sales in a year.

Adjusted income from continuing operations fell 4 percent to $600 million but exceeded market expectations.

For the current quarter, Ebay announced proceeds of up to 2.54 billion US dollars and was thus also above Wall Street forecasts. Investors temporarily let the share rise by more than eight percent in the after-hours trading. (dpa)
