TOCarnival is also over and now we will have to wait until the end of March for the arrival of the next holiday Easter will be celebrated on the 31st. In just over a month, therefore, there will be a new break for school too, a fact that is always of great interest to both students, teachers and parents who have to organize their time if their children are at home.
Easter holiday, how long does school stop?
The school break for Easter 2024 will be six days. In fact, unlike many other sectors, schools will close as early as Holy Week Thursday 28 March to reopen the 3rd April. The only exception is the Aosta Valley where schools will reopen on the 2nd. Once the Easter holidays are over, however, students and teachers will be able to enjoy other holidays and even some long weekends, although 2024 is not so generous with them.
Long weekends after Easter: April 25th
To see holidays again, once Easter is over, you will have to wait until April 25th, National Liberation Day. As it fell on Thursday, some Regions decided to close schools also on the 26th and 27th for institutions open on Saturdays. These are: Calabria and Campania, Marche, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Veneto and the autonomous province of Bolzano on the 26th alone.
First of May
The last holiday before school closes in June will be First of May, National Workers’ Day. This year it will fall on a Wednesday and the Regions that have opted for the closure of schools also on April 29th and 30thdeciding for the bridge, are Liguria And Molise. From May 2nd, lessons will resume until closing, also because the 2nd, Republic Day, will fall on Sunday.
European elections, are we celebrating? Depends
There could still be a few days of holiday due to the European elections on 8 and 9 June, for those institutions that will act as polling stations. But this is yet to be decided. Instead regarding the closing day of schools in June, as always each Region has its own calendar. Let’s see what it is:
