“Logical decision”

Robin Meißner has extended his contract with Dynamo Dresden. The third -best goal scorer in the third division team is “an important part of our offensive and is characterized above all by its variability,” emphasized sports director Thomas Brendel. “It can be used both in the tip and on the outer lane and has a high degree of gate risk with its speed and physical robustness.”
Meißner, born in Hamburg, was already waving the jump to the professionals at the FC St. Pauli training club, where it was one of the best scorers of the U17, U19 and U23. For the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga on the ball, he was for the HSV, where the Barsbütteler 2020 had changed. In the lower house, Meißner scored a goal in his first three games from the start after a few short missions for the red pants, which were also all three games of the then interim coach Horst Hrubesch at the end of the season 2020/21.
Under the successor Tim Walter and after an injury at the beginning of the season 2021/22, Meißner then hardly came to the train and left the Altona Volkspark after only one starting eleven and three short missions in the 2. League. The attacker initially switched to Hansa Rostock and then to Viktoria Cologne. Then the HSV had it moved to Dresden free of charge.
“I would like to thank all those responsible for the trust they have been and at the same time return it with my performance and commitment on the pitch in the coming years,” said Meißner. “I feel extremely comfortable in the club and the entire city, which is why it was an important and almost logical decision for my future with Dresden and Dynamo for me.” In his 58 missions that have been completed since 2023, the attacker reaches a total of 15 goals and eight assists. In the current third division season in the Dynamo squad, only Christoph Daferner (twelve goals) and Stefan Kutschke (seven) surpass the balance sheet of Meißner.
