As the league leader in the 3rd league, Dynamo Dresden committed the turn of the year almost six weeks ago, already showed a decent six-point pad on the relegation place. Finally, however, the shape curve clearly pointed down, which is why the return to the 2nd Bundesliga is seriously in danger again. SGD sports director Thomas Brendel raises the alarm.
Dynamo read a whopping eight points in the last four games in the 3rd league and lost 1-2 with promoted VfB Stuttgart II on the last match day. If the Saxons afford the next point of point around 1860 Munich next Sunday, the direct promotion place for the first time could be.
“Four out of twelve points does not meet our requirements. Such a cut is not enough to stay with it. That has to be aware of that,” said Thomas Brendel, Managing Director Sport at the Dresdeners, no leaf.
Already last season Dynamo had run out of breath in the promotion race in the second half of the season. At that time, the SGD was also on a direct promotion place for a long time, but only won 22 points in 19 games in the entire back series.
1860 Munich comes to Dresden as 14th
At the same time, Brendel was convinced that the Dresden team will appear again in the upcoming home game against the Munich Löwen: “The team is just as little satisfied as we do. And willing to make it up again.”
Basically, the 48-year-old presented the character question on Sunday evening before the duel of the former Bundesliga clubs: “If you play at Dynamo Dresden and want to stay on a promotion zone, you have to break resistances every week. It will be shown whether we can do that again …”
In contrast to Dynamo Dresden, 1860 has long since said goodbye to the promotion race in the 3rd league and is currently only in the unsatisfactory 14th place in the table.
