Dwingeloo gets a sequel to Timmerdorp, organization is even bigger

After the success of 2020, work is now being done during the May holidays in the nicest village, which is also called Dwingeloo. Archive organization

For the second time, Dwingeloo will once again have a Timmerdorp, where the organization will be even bigger. From Saturday 30 April to Wednesday 4 May, children can get to work with wood, hammers, nails and other materials in Beleefpark Dwingeloo.

It is not yet known whether this second edition of Timmerdorp Dwingeloo will solve the current housing shortage in the municipality of Westerveld. “We will of course do everything we can to make it a great activity for children again,” says Bram Bloemerts of BURO BRAM.

Due to the well-known measures, it took a while before this second edition of the Timmerdorp could be scheduled, but after the success of the first edition in October 2020, all builders from 6 to 12 years old can visit daily from 13.00 to 17.00 during the May holiday. hours of work on the building plots at the Experience Park on the Anserpad. It will soon be possible to register groups for private plots or individuals for communal plots on the Experience Park website.

Unpack bigger

The organization will go even bigger this edition to match the number of happy faces of the first edition. For example, in addition to a shop, construction site and town hall, a hardware store will also be added to the site this time. Materials and tools can be bought this time with Timmerdorp money. This money can be earned by building beautiful huts and by completing bonus missions. In addition, all builders can spend the last night of May 3 to 4 in their own built hut.

No Timmerdorp without sponsors. That is why the organization calls on everyone in the municipality of Westerveld (and beyond) to come forward to agree on how a contribution can be made. This could include supplying tools and/or materials, paying for diplomas or Timmerdorp passports, a small gift for afterwards, a financial contribution or in another creative way.

Volunteers

The organization is also looking for volunteers who would like to help for one or a few days with supervision, giving advice to builders, issuing building permits, manning the hardware store, the shop or the town hall and more. “For the entire period from April 30 to May 4, we are still looking for people who want to come and help us daily from 12.30 pm to 5 pm. Volunteers are also very welcome for the night of 3 to 4 May,” says Bram.
