The entrepreneurial associations MKB-Nederland, VNO-NCW and Evofenedex today presented the embassy price for the best Dutch diplomatic or trading post abroad for the 21st time. The embassy in Stockholm (Sweden) and the consulate general in Toronto (Canada) were best rated by entrepreneurs.
The embassy price is awarded every two years and is an initiative of entrepreneurial associations Evofenedex, VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The winner is chosen by the Dutch business community based on a survey.
Entrepreneurs who have done business abroad in the past year and were helped by a Dutch embassy or consulate general could nominate a foreign representation for the price. In the survey, the entrepreneurs also gave an opinion on the quality of the service. The survey was completed by nearly 300 entrepreneurs.
Average rating of 9.5
A total of 261 embassies or consulates general were nominated for the price, spread over 36 countries. These representations received an average assessment of a 9.5 for the services. For example, for supporting new contacts, with information about the local market and trade missions. Almost two thirds of the respondents even assessed the services with a 10.
The embassy in Stockholm and the consulate general in Toronto were most often mentioned by entrepreneurs and therefore win the embassy price for large and small post respectively.
Reinette Klever, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aid: “Our representations are ready all over the world to help entrepreneurs on their way abroad. They have a large network, know the local market and can open doors with governments. Our embassies and consulates are the springboard to a successful foreign adventure. ”
Successfully doing business across the border
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has around 150 representations abroad that are ready to help entrepreneurs. The Ministry also helps entrepreneurs with basic information about countries, subsidies and trade missions.
