Dutch expert restores windmill in Merkem

Problems in the Beukelaremolen in Merkem. The millstones heat up too quickly, causing the flour to stick in the grooves of the stones. The result: poor quality flour, which the five millers cannot sell to the bakers. A Dutch millstone cutter came to solve the problem by sharpening the clogged top of the millstone. After the job, the stone of no less than 1.2 tons was lifted back into place and the mill can again grind grain smoothly.
