A suspected illegal car race in Berlin-Borsigwalde ended with one of the cars involved colliding with a bus.

The 38-year-old driver of the car and her 33-year-old companion sustained injuries to their head and upper body, the police announced on Thursday. They were taken to hospitals by rescue workers for inpatient treatment.

According to previous findings, the 38-year-old stopped at a red light next to a 49-year-old’s car on Holzhauser Strasse on Wednesday afternoon. It was said that there was initially a verbal argument between them. When the traffic light turned green, both of them are said to have driven at high speed towards Nordgraben.

While trying to overtake the 49-year-old, the 38-year-old crashed into his car and apparently lost control of her car.

She crashed into a lamppost, then a tree and then crossed into oncoming traffic, where she collided with the bus.
