Rodgers on making music together
Rodgers added: “My love for Duran Duran and what our music together has always been about is the love we share for the deepest meanings of our songs. No matter the chaos outside, in the studio we are free to love our peace.”
Duran Duran will headline the Beachlife Festival in California, followed by a multi-day Las Vegas residency at Fontainebleau. The band then sets off on a month-long European tour.
Rodgers was recently named to The New York Times’ list of the 30 greatest living American songwriters. “I can start with a great idea – and by the time I’m done, I’ve rewrote it three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 times,” he explained. “That’s how I see myself: as an arranger. And because they’re my arrangements, they become the foundation of the song.”
